While snow has been a big issue since the storm, many parents are worried about their finances.
With the state of emergency in the metro region, thousands of children stayed home from school and daycare.
Child care advocate Gillian Pearson says it posed problems especially for essential workers who had to scramble to find childcare.
Another concern being raised is if day cares won’t pay their employees even though some centres are receiving a subsidy and parents still have to pay whether their child was there or not.
Pearson says she is trying to get answers.
She says she’s been trying to get clarification, but it looks like a vast majority of day cares and day homes will be paying their staff since they are still being paid by parents.
Pearson says they are getting reports of some who are not getting paid, but they are unsure as people don’t want to broadcast it on social media.
