Postal workers should be back on metro-area streets delivering mail by Monday.
That’s according to CUP-W Chief Shop Steward Craig Dyer.
He says union members are anxious to back to work as the post office has only been allowed limited staff under the state of emergency.
One of their main concerns is access to community mailboxes throughout the region, but for the moment they have bigger priorities.
He says their focus is on getting cheques out to people depending on them for food and rent.
They have found some creative solutions in similar situations in the past, such as doubling up drivers to get the mail out, and Dyer says they will be looking into any solutions they can.
