The City of Mount Pearl and the Town of Paradise have lifted its state of emergency as of 6:00 a.m. today.
A 24-hour parking ban has been implemented immediately. The municipalities say they need to get vehicles off the streets to help with snow clearing.
People who are clearing their driveways can move their vehicles onto the street until they’re finished, but only if they are not interfering with snow clearing operations.
In Mount Pearl all city recreation facilities will return to normal operation. In Paradise Town Hall will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the Double Ice Complex is open from 7:00 a.m. to 11 p.m..
Drivers are asked to adjust speeds to current road conditions and to slow down in residential areas. The large amount of snow has reduced visibility and it’s important to watch for pedestrians and children playing.
Eastern Health’s Mount Pearl Square Location will be open today. That includes mental health and addictions services, community health services, public health and administrative services.
The SOE remains in effect in St. John’s, therefore only emergent and urgent services in the capital city including the Health Sciences Centre, St. Claire’s Mercy Hospital and the Waterford Hospital are available.
Updates can be found on the Storm Watch section of the Eastern Health website as well as Eastern Health’s Facebook at twitter feeds.
