RCMP are reminding drivers to have patience after a 50-year-old was caught driving 175 km/h this morning.
The driver from Nova Scotia was caught shortly after 7 a.m. and charged with excessive speeding.
His vehicle was impounded.
RCMP are reminding the public to have patience and drive carefully during their travels today. With the State of Emergency lifted and an expected influx of traffic toward the City of St. John’s, officers will be conducting speed enforcement on the Avalon.
Drivers charged with excessive speeding for a first time offense face a fine of $520 and four demerit points.
