The Sweet Newfie Kitchen says the community has truly come together to help those in need, but the demand never goes away. They are collecting items to go towards food needs in the community today until 6 p.m.

As far as donations go, they took to their Facebook page with tips for the best way to donate.

They say they do not have the space for donations of milk or eggs but gift cards to food stores go a long way.

Other ways to help include donating taxi vouchers or gift certificates to a local business.

The restaurant has also been putting together food hampers for families. They purchase large boxes of tea bags, soap pods, sugar twin and other items that are easy to buy in bulk. The hampers are filled with non-perishable food items along with fresh foods and household products.
