The Royal Canadian Legion is having a roast beef dinner today to thank city workers, emergency services personnel, military and more for their work during Snowmageddon.
The dinner at the legion on Blackmarsh Road will include all the fixins including Salt Meat.
Premier Dwight Ball and St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen will be hand at the dinner from 12 to 4 p.m.
The meal will be cooked by the ladies auxiliary of the legion.
As well, the Salvation Army is hosting a community supper this evening at 5 p.m. at George Street United Church.
Major Rene Loveless says it is the least the organization could do after a long week.
He says it is a way to let people know that they are cared for, especially after a tough time. He states that nobody will be turned away.
