It’s the end of an era for the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival.
Dr. Noreen Golfman who founded the organization 30 years ago and has been on the helm ever since is stepping down as chair.
The film festival started in 1989 as a small local event with big ambitions. It has since grown and received international recognition for its efforts in highlighting the work of female filmmakers, producers, writers and actors.
Golfman says it’s time to pass on the gavel, and while she isn’t going away, she is stepping back.
Vice-Chair Angela Antle is taking over as Chair of the organization.
Golfman was named an honourary board member at the board’s recent AGM.
