Rain and mild temperatures today mixed with record-breaking levels of snow in parts of Eastern Newfoundland have led to water pooling on roads in many areas.
Reports of major water build-up have popped up across the Avalon and Burin Peninsulas.

The RNC has issued a caution to drivers in metro to stay safe when hitting the road.
One area in particular is along Pitts Memorial Drive, near Kilbride heading towards downtown St. John’s, where a large amount of water has collected.
Drivers are asked to stay in the left lane and use care when driving on that area of the highway.
⚠️TRAFFIC ADVISORY⚠️ We are experiencing a lot of rain in the Metro region. With the snow, it’s causing water buildup on the highways, in particular on Pitts Memorial – Kilbride heading into downtown. #nltraffic should stay in the left lane. pic.twitter.com/4KMYVGIN4t
