Metro will not see as much rain today as originally thought but the Marystown area is in for a soaking today, with flooding concerns throughout.
Wanda Batten, a meteorologist with Environment Canada says the rain begins this morning and will continue until around supper time.
Significant rain is forecasted for the southwestern portion of the province, with only 5-10mm forecasted for metro and 15mm for the southern Avalon. But the Burin is bearing the brunt of it.
(15-25 mm for the Burin and Connaigre peninsulas mean a rainfall warning in the area.)
Batten adds that this brings with it the possibility for localized flooding and snow melting if the proper precautions are not taken.
