Getting a special weather statement on Friday is unfortunately becoming a tradition in the province.
Samantha Roache of the Gander weather office says there’s some uncertainty in terms of totals, especially around potential flooding after the snow and rain coming Sunday.
Roache says they are looking at 5-10 cm of snow starting early Sunday for the Avalon and hitting metro around noon and changing to rain by 2-3:00 p.m..
Then the winds are coming.
Warmer temperatures and southeast winds gusting to 80 or 100 around the coast will hit during Sunday afternoon, but after all the rain and melting, it’s dropping to -3 overnight, making for slippery conditions Monday.
