The need for community assistance that has risen from under the mountains of snow from Snowmageddon has brought out all kinds of local heroes to band together and help those in need.
Local actress and comedian Mary Walsh has decided to personally support and volunteer at the Froude Avenue Community Centre.
She says there were a lot of people who were trapped inside, or who did not have the means to stock up on necessities before the storm. That’s why she decided to pitch in and help
One thing Walsh highlighted was how key preparedness is during emergencies and how warming shelters should be at the front of everyone’s mind when there is a potential loss of power.
