The Newfoundland Growlers dominated their weekend series against the Brampton Beast while tying a longstanding ECHL record.
The Growlers shut the Beast out Friday night with a final score of 5-0, bringing their home game winning streak up to 17.
Then on Saturday night the Growlers filled the net again, winning 6-1 to tie the longest home-ice winning streak in ECHL history at 18 straight.
The previous record was set by the 1994-1995 South Carolina Stingrays.
The Growlers now head out on the road for a three game stretch battling the Adirondack Thunder once and the Worcester Railers twice.
Fans will have to wait until February 14 to see if the Growlers can make more history by breaking the ECHL record when they face the Maine Mariners at Mile One.
