Newfoundland Power is asking the public to beware of a scam circulating claiming to be with the company in order to lure people in.
The utility says it’s getting reports of people being contacted by others claiming to be from Newfoundland Power.
They try to persuade the potential victim to send information on account numbers.
Newfoundland Power advises against giving them any such information. Instead, contact police and also let the company know: 1-800-663-2802.
