Labrador Marine recently marked a significant milestone with two of its freight shipping vessels.
The company has completed it’s inaugural year with the Kamutik W and the Qajaq W, two vessels that serve the north coast and the Strait of Belle Isle respectively.
Last year was the first of a 12 year contract with the vessels, and Labrador Marine says it was a good one.
Despite bad ice conditions in the straits and a stormy fall all freight was delivered by the end of the season and earlier than in previous years.
The company says they will continue to improve the service for residents, such as implementing a tracking system later this year so people can keep an eye on where their shipments are.
