Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the National Historic Trust for Canada published a list of five Historic Places with a Soft Spot for Romance, and on that list is the historic Newman Wine Vaults.
Said to be one of the oldest buildings in the capital city, the Wine Vaults’ unique architecture and use of stone and brick are one of the many factors contributing the romantic appeal of the place.
Also included on the list is the Longheed House in Calgary, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum and the Leacock Museum in Ontario, and the Historic Stewart Farm in British Columbia.
