Three upcoming jury trials have been cancelled for a variety of reasons.
Jury selection was scheduled to get underway on February 18 in Grand Falls-Windsor, as well as March 2 and 3 in St. John’s, but all have been cancelled.
Anyone who has received a jury summons for the specified dates and locations do not have to appear and have no further obligations.
The two drug-related jury trials scheduled for St. John’s Supreme Court in March have been changed to trial by judge alone, while the Grand Falls-Windsor jury trial has been postponed to a later date.
Last month, the trial of Steve Bragg—accused in the murder of Victoria Head—was postponed indefinitely due to an ongoing investigation into DNA contamination at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
