Two men and two women are in trouble with the law following break-ins at multiple properties on the West Coast.
At 5:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, officers were called to reports of suspicious activity at a vacant residence in Humber Village.
A sled attached to a snowmobile had pulled in behind a residence with fresh tracks to prove it. Police continued to search and saw a man running towards the snowmobile carrying a firearm. He was arrested.
Corner Brook RCMP then noticed a number of foot tracks heading into the woods near the home and suspected there was more than one person involved.
They set up a checkpoint on a one-way bridge leading to Humber Village and a vehicle carrying three people, believed to be involved with a break-and-enter attempted to pass. They were taken into custody but the investigation into their involvement is still ongoing.
It was discovered that two residences had been broken into and a snowmobile was stolen from Pasadena between February 5 and 6.
Jeremey Hann, a 24-year-old man from Little Harbour, appeared in court on Monday, facing charges of three counts of break and enter, possession of stolen property over and under $5,000, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm and breach of probation. He was released and will appear in court on March 17.
RCMP Police Dog Services and officers are continuing their investigation.
