The bulk of the snow forecast has fallen, but the snow is still coming down with a few more cm to come. The big issue now is the wind.
We’re close to 15 cm since the snow began early this morning.
The winds are are switching around to the northwest and will gust to 80 km/h on the Avalon, a little lesser in other places. In either case, it means blowing snow.
Rodney Barney, a meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, says visibility will be an issue especially now with the high snowbanks. Instead of ground drifting, the snow is coming from higher up he says.
