First responders were called to scene of a collision involving several vehicles on the Trans-Canada Highway early this afternoon.

Traffic came to a halt between Butter Pot Park and Witless Bay Line for quite some time, as crews dealt with difficult conditions.

While the road gradually reopened to traffic, officials urged drivers to use caution due to whiteout conditions in the area.

There is currently no word of injuries.
