A former priest accused of sexually assaulting a child in central Newfoundland back in the 1990s, has been ordered to appear in court in Grand Falls-Windsor next month.
Anthony Hageman, also known as “Father Tony” was serving with the Roman Catholic Church at the time of the alleged offences.
Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP received a complaint in August, 2019, from a person who reported being sexually assaulted as a seven-year-old child in Badger.
The police investigation has led to charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and sexual exploitation.
Hageman, 62, is scheduled to appear in court on March 25 to answer to the charges.
