Mother Nature is about to shift gears as she continually reminds us that we’re in the dead of winter.
Instead of a snow attack, the entire province is about to settle into a deep freeze. Temperatures are already plummeting in Labrador West where an extreme cold warning is out as wind chills overnight tonight will be close to minus 50.
The warmth in our hearts on Valentine’s Day won’t be enough to shield us from the bitter cold. David Neal, a meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, says the bitter cold will last into Saturday.
Wind chills in the metro region tomorrow and Saturday morning will be in the mid minus 20s.
The metro region got almost 20 cm of snow on Wednesday.
