A Toronto-based equity firm has offered a substantial donation to the Community Food Sharing Association.

Deputy Mayor Sheilagh O’Leary says Third Eye Capital reached out to council during the State of Emergency to offer help to the people of St. John’s.

O’Leary says the private equity firm recently donated $75,000 to the Community Food Sharing Association.

She says that money will allow 500 four-person families needed food to get them through what she calls “this unprecedented winter.”
