Two public information sessions are scheduled for next week to discuss the right to decide and supported decision making.
There’s a movement afoot to enact changes to existing laws in the province to better recognize a person’s legal capacity on an equal basis. The concern surrounds people with cognitive, intellectual, and mental health issues and the barriers they face in exercising choice and control in their lives.
Dr. Michael Bach is with the Institute for Research and Development on Inclusion and Society in Winnipeg, Manitoba and he will be facilitating a session in St. John’s February 20th.
