If you’re looking for the upside of all the snow in the metro region, it might be that it’s giving police a hand.

RNC officers tried to stop a vehicle in the west end last night, only to have the driver floor it and try to flee, however they didn’t get very far after striking and becoming lodged in a snowbank.

The driver then attempted to escape on foot, but was tracked down by police dog Dali.

The 25-year-old was charged with flight and dangerous driving, in addition to driving while suspended, with no insurance, and without transferring ownership.

He was held in the lock-up for court.
