It’s a cold Friday and it’s only going to get colder.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement due to the windchill approaching the extreme cold level of a minus 35 windchill.
Justin Boudreau with the Gander weather office says temperatures are in a falling trend. He says the island is going to get between minus 10-12 with a windchill of as low as minus 30 overnight.
Frostbite develops within minutes at these temperatures, so bundle up and use caution when outside.
Boudreau said temperatures should be rising a bit again on Sunday to around minus seven.
