A case of alleged sexual assault against a seven-year-old child in Badger back in the 90s has resulted in charges against a former Roman Catholic priest.
62-year-old Anthony Hageman of Toronto was charged after an investigation was launched following a complaint made to RCMP in Grand Falls-Windsor in August. The complainant reported being sexually assaulted by the man former known as ‘Father Tony’.
RCMP have charged Hageman with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and sexual exploitation.
Hageman is scheduled to appear in court in Grand Falls-Windsor March 25 on the charges. Police are asking anyone with information related to the ongoing investigation to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
