The Newfoundland Growlers’ record breaking home streak ended at 19 wins when they suffered a 3-1 loss against the Maine Mariners last night.
The scoreless first period saw the Mariners outshoot the Growlers but Colt Conrad had a chance at a goal when he backhanded one past Maine’s goaltender. However after video review, it was deemed no goal.
Maine opened the scoring in the second and the Growlers tied it up but Maine got ahead in the third and scored an empty netter in the last few minutes of gameplay.
The Growlers continue their homestand this Tuesday at Mile One Centre against Maine. Puck drop is 7 p.m.
