It is another cold day on the Avalon today.

Temperatures are around minus 13 this morning with wind chills around minus 25 to minus 30.

Meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, Jody Boyd, says those temperatures will go up a little bit this afternoon with the wind chill around minus 15. He says it will cool off again tonight and winds will drop off but the temperature will stick at around minus 25 with the wind chill.

It is important to be aware that there is ice hiding under a small layer of snow in some areas. Be sure to salt your driveways and use caution while driving, especially on side roads or exposed areas with drifting snow.
