Some tense moments in Corner Brook as a portion of the roof on the Steers Distribution Warehouse collapsed.
Emergency crews responded to the damaged building located on Brook Street, early in the afternoon on Thursday. A large swath of the roof had fallen in on itself forcing city officials to close a portion of Brook Street indefinitely.
Brook St. update:
The road will remain indefinitely closed between Main St. and Lester Ave. for the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

High winds and adverse weather may have made it more difficult for first responders at the scene bit it doesn’t appear to have caused the incident. Corner Brook has seen the accumulation of roughly 150 cm of snow over the past three weeks.
The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
