The man considered by many to be the front-runner in the race to replace outgoing Liberal leader and Premier Dwight Ball indicates he’s giving the matter some serious thought, but has yet to throw his hat in the ring.
Dr. Andrew Furey issued a blog post today indicating that he’s got a lot to think about, including family commitments.

He’s behind Team Broken Earth, a humanitarian group that’s been doing work in Haiti since 2010.
The orthopedic surgeon gained international attention ten years ago when he took a team of local surgeons, nurses and other health professionals to Haiti after the region was hit by an earthquake that killed over one hundred thousand people and injured tens of thousands more.
Furey has been a long-time Liberal Party supporter, both provincially and federally. His father, Senator George Furey, is Speaker of the Senate in Ottawa.
Following Premier Dwight Ball’s resignation last week, executive members with the NL Liberal Party announced that nominations for the leadership will remain open until Friday, March 6th.
Another possible contender, businessman Paul Antle revealed this week that he will not be seeking the Leadership.
