With a laser speed detector in hand, RCMP laid nearly 20 speeding charges over a two-hour period this week.
Officers hit the Trans-Canada Highway near Middle Gull Pond on Tuesday, focusing their efforts on those breaking the speed limit.
One driver lost his vehicle to the impound lot after police caught him driving at 151 km/h—and that’s not all.
On closer inspection, they discovered he had yet to earn his driver’s licence. In fact, he was still using a beginner’s permit that expired eight years ago.
RCMP say enforcement efforts continue.
