Independent MHA Eddie Joyce believes House Speaker, Scott Reid will rule in his favour when it comes to the Point of Privilege raised by Joyce on Tuesday.
Joyce tabled what he calls new information acquired through Access to Information. He says he was not given the opportunity to avail of due process as the Commissioner of Legislative Standards, Bruce Chaulk, did not interview him regarding the allegations.
He says his rights were violated and that Chaulk then misled the House by not telling the Management Commission that he wasn’t interviewed because he was not given the opportunity.
Joyce believes Reid should rule in his favour because of the new information, but if he does not, Joyce says that’s where Siobhan Coady or Steve Crocker need to step up to the plate.
He says it was the Liberal party who gave him the boot from caucus, and now knowing the truth that he was not interviewed, they should show leadership by standing in the House of Assembly and rescinding his punishment.
