Some changes have been made to the entrances to washrooms at Carbonear Collegiate following concerns expressed by students.

The NL English School District says the entrances to both male and female washrooms have been modified to what’s being called “airport style”—that is without an exterior door.

The school district says the move was made in response to concerns raised by students themselves about vaping and vandalism in the washrooms.

“Airport style” entrances to washrooms are now the standard for all new school construction.
