After being removed from the province over 200 years ago, the remains of two Beothuk have finally returned to their home.
In the 1820s the remains were removed from their resting place at Red Indian Lake and brought overseas to Scotland. And there they stayed until Saqamaw Mi’sel Joe called on government to help with their return.
After years of work, it was announced last night at The Rooms they had finally made their journey back.
The remains will stay at The Rooms until a decision on their final resting place is reached.
