Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau are in cautionary self-isolation after she began displaying flu-like symptoms.
In a statement released Thursday afternoon, Prime Minister Trudeau says Sophie recently returned from a speaking event in the UK. Late last night she began exhibiting mild flu-like symptoms, and was examined by a doctor.
Trudeau says she is feeling better, but they’ve both entered self-isolation until COVID-19 test results are returned.
Out of an abundance of caution, I too will be self-isolating & self-monitoring until we get Sophie‘s results back. But I‘ll be busy working from home. Today, I‘ll be speaking with some world leaders and joining ministers for a Cabinet committee discussion on COVID-19.

The Prime Minister says he is feeling fine, but will continue work with provincial and territorial leaders remotely.
An in-person meeting of Canada’s First Ministers set for today was cancelled.
