Cruise ships with more than 500 people aboard will not be able to stop in Canada until at least July 1. Cruise ships usually begin arriving in Newfoundland in May. For smaller ships, there will be screening measures in place. Three ships were scheduled in St. John’s over that period, and three in Corner Brook.
The country is also reducing the number of airports which can accept flights which originate from overseas. It did not name which airports would be accepting those flights.
The Prime Minister will have a conference call today with Premiers and Indigenous leaders.
