The provincial government has directed the closure of Marble Mountain Ski Resort for the remainder of the 2020 ski season.
That decision was made in light of concerns at a national and provincial level, as the situation around COVID-19 continues to quickly evolve.
In a statement, Premier Dwight Ball says the decision was made following consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald.
As of yet, Premier Ball says there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Officials are closely monitoring the developments of the coronavirus, and are working with colleagues across Canada to ensure cases of the virus are quickly identified and managed.
