City and town-owned recreational facilities in St. John’s, Mount Pearl, CBS and Paradise have all been closed until further notice.
In St. John’s, recreation programs are cancelled with the exception of After School program which will continue as long as schools remain open. Rental of city facilities are also cancelled until further notice.
The Railway Coast Museum and the Pippy Park Winter Activity Centre will also be closed, however the trails in Pippy Park will continue to be groomed.
Public meetings at city hall and other facilities are also cancelled, and while city council will continue to meet, council meetings will be closed to the general public until further notice.

The City of Mount Pearl is also closing all city-owned recreation facilities until further notice. That includes the Summit Centre, Reid Community Centre, Glacier, Admiralty House, Gloria Pearson Community Centre, Mount Pearl Legion, Park Place Community Centre, Pearlgate Track and Field, the Soccer Hut, the Softball Hut, Tennis Complex and Campia Gymnastics.
All city hosted events for the month of March are cancelled. All facility rentals are also cancelled.
Public council meetings in Mount Pearl will also be closed to the public, but city hall and the city depot will remain open during regular business hours.
CBS has also followed suit with the closure of its recreation facilities. Town Hall will operate as normal.
Meanwhile, Paradise is also closing its recreation facilities effective 11 p.m., Friday. Town Hall will remain open during regular posted hours. All town recreational programming, except the After School Program, have been cancelled.
The upcoming public town council meeting will proceed, but it will be closed to the public.
