In an unusual response to plunging oil prices, the Public Utilities Board has dropped the regulated price of gas today by an unbelievable 14.4 cents a litre.
This follows a drop of 5 and a half cents a litre on Thursday.
The PUB says the unusual move was made to address “recent extraordinary commodity market developments.”
The Board says since Thursday’s price adjustment, “there has been a significant downward shift in the benchmarks used” by the PUB.
Gas is dropping 14.4 cents a litre, diesel is down by 5.9 cents a litre while furnace oil is down 6.64 cents a lite.
Stove oil is dropping 5.33 cents a litre while there is no change in propane.
Gas prices in the province have taken a nose-dive.
