Marine Atlantic is implementing new screening measures and operational changes effective immediately due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Customers who arrive at Marine Atlantic terminals will be asked questions to determine their fitness to travel.
Marine Atlantic says those who have traveled out of the country in the last 14 days, or have had contact with someone with COVID-19 and if they have experienced COVID-19 symptoms they will not be permitted to travel.
Those who have been out of the country in the last 14 days or had contact with someone with COVID-19, but they are not showing symptoms will be permitted to travel, but will be isolated at the terminal and onboard the ship.
Marine Atlantic is also setting a passenger limit of 250 passengers per crossing.
Right now Nova Scotia has confirmed it’s first three presumptive cases of COVID-19.
Marine Atlantic is working with health professionals and will continue to make additional changes to operations as required.
