Despite public outrage over Steve Crocker’s decision to fly south on Thursday, Premier Dwight Ball has accepted his cabinet minister’s apology.
Premier Ball says Transportation and Works Minister Crocker is “remorseful and sorry” about his decision to travel to Florida three days ago.
Ball added that Crocker has “apologized for his actions and will self-isolate for the required 14 days upon his return; the Minister is expected to work from home during this period.”
When word got out that Crocker had left the province for Florida, people online began to question his judgement for flying to another country during the Coronavirus pandemic.
For his part, Crocker apologized, pointing out that when he left the federal advisory had not been issued, but that it “was clearly the wrong decision.”
Premier Ball says all other members from the Liberal caucus are in the province but he has heard mention members of other parties being out of the country.
