The Avalon Mall in St. John’s is reducing its operating hours. Effective Tuesday, the mall will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and noon until 5:00 on Sunday.

Malls across the country are taking similar steps.

Restaurant Brands International Inc. says it is asking Canadian Tim Hortons restaurant owners to provide take-out, drive-thru and delivery only.

The company says it is closing all dining room seating effective Tuesday. The closures will continue until future notice.

Some stores have decided to close their doors for a period of time to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Libraries in the province will close until further notice.
