VALE has cancelled all flights to the Voisey’s Bay mine site as a precaution until they are better able to screen employees heading to the site.
A spokesperson says the company has been taking all necessary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at its sites since late January.
The company reiterates that there are no suspected cases of COVID-19 on their site and the delay is required to allow their team members to finalize a plan specific for Voisey’s Bay.
Workers at the Voisey’s Bay site are brought in from around the world.
