Doctors’ clinics and offices outside of hospitals remain open for the time being and are handling appointments.
The NLMA says offices that close, change their hours, or switch appointments to phone or video calls will inform their patients prior to their appointment.
Many clinics are using screening protocols, and may ask patients to wait in their vehicles prior to their appointment.
If you are unsure if your doctor’s office is open, or if your appointment has changed, call your doctor’s office to confirm.
Do not assume your appointment is cancelled.
If you have a fever or symptoms of respiratory infection like a new or worsening cough or difficulty breathing, you’re being asked not to go to a doctor’s office. Instead, self-isolate, and phone 811. Public Health will follow up.
If you are severely ill and require emergency medical attention, call 911 of your potential exposure to COVID-19.
