A man whose dedicated work helped to celebrate and elevate vernacular furniture in Newfoundland and Labrador, has passed away.
Walter Peddle of Spaniard’s Bay passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, March 18th.
He was 81.
Peddle was a furniture expert and was much sought after for his expertise, especially when it came to traditional Newfoundland furniture. He was a former curator at The Rooms and “Material History Specialist.”
Tributes are pouring in from The Rooms to local folklorist, Dale Jarvis.
Funeral Arrangements will be announced at a later date.
