The provincial government is providing help to families and day cares for services that have been temporarily suspended.
Funding is being provided to regulated child care centres and family child care homes at the child care subsidy rate for all licensed spaces.
That assistance will be in place until April 30th at which time it will be reassessed.
That means families will not have to pay child care fees during the closure period, while staff will continue to receive their wages and benefits.
The support will be retroactive to the date on which services were suspended.
More details will be available in the coming days.
