The Nunatsiavut Government is discouraging non-essential travel between Labrador Inuit communities in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those who are entering Labrador from away are being asked to self-isolate, and they should not travel.
The Nunatsiavut Government says pandemics have had catastrophic impacts in coastal Labrador in the past.
The Spanish flu nearly completely wiped out the Inuit community of Okak and killed hundreds more in other coastal Labrador communities just over 100 years ago.
