The House of Assembly is set to open this afternoon for just the one day, and on a limited capacity.
Only 10 MHAs and the speaker will be present. Normal proceedings have been waived, meaning no member or minister statements, or Question Period.
Premier Dwight Ball says they’ll be seeking permission from House Members to put the province in a position to go out and borrow.
Ball says it was helpful to hear the Bank of Canada say they would support provinces with up to 40 per cent of credit. He says today is really about getting the province in a position to continue providing services.
The House of Assembly opens at 1:30 p.m.
