Impaired driving is suspected in two separate incidents on the Northern Peninsula on Tuesday.
Two people were taken to hospital after a snowmobile crash on Wigwam Pond in Port aux Choix Tuesday afternoon.
The 20-year-old driver and his 18-year-old passenger suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. The driver was arrested for impaired, and a blood sample was taken for further investigation.
Meanwhile, a 77-year-old Rocky Harbour man was arrested for impaired after the pickup he was driving struck a fire hydrant and went down over an embankment near the local fish plant.
He was treated in hospital for his injuries, and a blood sample was also obtained.
RCMP are awaiting the results of both blood samples.
