A man is dead following a traffic accident on the Burin Peninsula.

The crash happened during the supper hour yesterday. Two vehicles collided on Route 211, near English Harbour East.

One of the drivers, a 46-year-old man from English Harbour East, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. The other driver, a 20-year-old woman, was rushed to hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Burin Peninsula RCMP, the English Harbour East Volunteer Fire Department, and Marystown and Fewers Ambulance Service responded.
